I couldn't wait to grow up and go to school just like my big brothers
I couldn't wait to go away overseas and use my Minnie the Mouse backpack
I couldn't wait to go home and brag to all my friends
I couldn't wait to do my weather report presentation
I couldn't wait to go on lunch break during that mad handball craze
I couldn't wait until our math time was over
I couldn't wait to go to drama class in year 8
I couldn't wait to be skinny like all of my friends
I couldn't wait to go to art lessons with our hippie teacher
I couldn't wait to perform in Spamalot and Wakakirri
I couldn't wait to beat Wally in that cross country race
I couldn't wait to go on camp to this Island with my two best friends
I couldn't wait to start my first day at my brand new school
I couldn't wait to join the community club
I couldn't wait to see the end my first History exam
I couldn't wait to reach year 12 and sit up the back
I couldn't wait to graduate and finally be in the 'real world'
I couldn't wait to start university and my brand new life
Then I blinked and all the anticipation was gone,
These moments have been and gone and moved on
Life moves on...
Aw, Fliss, you're such a gem and your writing is always so flawless. xxx
